worth the price - if it's free
Évalué le: 2024-12-06
Nothing new or interesting here. Same old studies. Only practical advice is the last chapter, rest is all fluff, and even the last chapter is pretty trite. if you have time, it's free, it might be worth it for you... otherwise I'd pass

Fun and surprisingly useful
Évalué le: 2024-11-18
Full of fun stories about the history of words and expressions and other silly anecdotes. Flannigan grows on you with his dad jokes and fun-goofy energy. Found myself using some new "ten dollar words" within the first few hours of this book. The chapter on English spelling alone is worth the price of admission, but I really had fun with this book, surprisingly so.

Another autobiography disguised as a business book
Évalué le: 2024-11-01
~85% autobiographical and 15% business advice. If you want a 9 hour life story with some anecdotal business tips sprinkled in, maybe just go visit your local nursing home and listen to someone there. This book isn't a total waste of time, it's interesting at least, but if you want something useful, you could better spend that time and money elsewhere.

Let me save you the time and money
Évalué le: 2024-07-03
The entire book is: wake up early to get things done. There's nothing here you haven't heard elsewhere - it's Tony Robbins' Hour of Power, but without the charisma. The rest of the book is just trying to convince you to wake up early and why it's so great.
I'd apply for a refund if it were possible.

what is this trash
Évalué le: 2024-05-17
Seriously dated and racist, unnuanced and simple minded, arrogant and sweeping in its generalizations. This is the exact kind of book everyone hated "dead white men" for. Read Sapiens instead.

Évalué le: 2023-11-12
Hops around chronologically each chapter, going back in time to tell the same story from a different character's perspective. Very confusing at first. it's almost entirely about the Aztec (mexica) as the Mayans die in the first chapter. Flowery narrative with lots of description of clothes, quoting poetry and prayers, etc. There are some good parts but it's not very compelling.

Really an autobiography
Évalué le: 2023-02-05
I thought this would be about, you know, the art of asking with useful tips. It's really just a career/life history of Amanda Palmer with just a bunch of entire Dresden dolls songs shoehorned in. If that's what you want: enjoy! It wasn't what I was looking for.

Decent but short
Évalué le: 2019-02-15
Structure is 93 paragraphs that are often 2-3 sentences long. Some are pretty pointless, many are meh, a handful are spectacular. Wish it was better organized; still worth a read and the $6 I spent on it.
