I absolutely loved this book. It was wonderful how it was written, starting close to present day and then going back to the beginning of Tina's life. I loved that Tina was well enough to read the prologue. I have seen the movie What's Love Got To Do With It and the Tina Turner Musical in London at The Aldwych where Tina herself was part of the original production. Heather Alicia Simms narration was perfect and at times reminded me of a younger Tina. I love the story of her finally finding true love, a soul mate in her 40s. Erwin was so lovely and their romance was so wonderful to hear about. His courage to give her one of his organs to have her with him just a little be longer. I hope one day to meet my true love, it give me hope that it is never too late, Tina's story is a tale of survival and reinvention and i am thrilled that she lived a life well lived and well loved. My Love Story is a must read for any Tina Turner fan or otherwise.

How keeping secrets can shape a person's life in interesting ways.

I watched the series before listening to the book. The movie version is a little different but the gist is there. I loved both versions. Having seen the movie and then listening to the audible gave me a good visual of the characters and how they looked. The casting was very good. I highly recommend this book. It is a wonderful story of the complicated journey our lives can take and the legacy that we will all inevitably leave behind.

A Follow Up to Becoming to Complete the Circle

I would listen to anything that is done by Michelle Obama. I admire her so much and I am enlightened to hear her story from her perspective. How she and her family handled the pandemic and how it fundamentally changed so many and how they view the world in general. Nothing is certain, but what will get you through anything is how you handle yourself. She continues to handle things with grace and class and always hope for the future. That's all you can do with the time that you have on this earth. Be a good global citizens. Try to be a good and kind person despite what is going on around you. Keep the light we carry burning.

Enlightening Peek Behind the Curtain

I was intrigued when this book came up as a recommended read for subscribers'. I downloaded it right away, The whole Ashley Madison era of cheating spouses/partners was crazy. They created a platform to do it fairly easily with the anonymity of not getting caught, or so people thought. It was very easy listen and could be done in one seating, much like a really long podcast. It was enlightening to hear the stories of the outed people and why they came to use the platform to begin with. The world is full of lonely, and some miserably partnered people. I was not surprised that most of the clients on there are men engaging with a lot of female bots. This is how the 'dating' apps work. They don't want you to find a partner because that ruins their bottom line. If you are interested in the way this platform was brought down but not necessarily out of the game, it's worth the listen.

A little lack lustre and fairly predictable

After listening to Gabrielle's first novel, Eat Pray FML, I was happy to listen to her new novel. It was nice to catch up on what she had been up to since the release of her first novel and all the drama she had gone through with her hot latin lover. But honestly, hearing her go back and forth with her two lovers throughout this book became quite repetitive and annoying. I also felt a little sorry for the true boyfriend she kept running back to when things went crazy. I loved the travel blog through Asia, and her doing things solo was inspiring and empowering. The rest of the story was a little boring. I'm glad everything worked out in the end and that she had some epithanies along the way. But man, it took too long to get there.

Finally Living on Her Terms

I absolutely loved this book and listening to Anna's journey to find her way back to what she wanted. The universe has a way of bringing things into your life and also moving things out of it to get you back on the path that you are truly meant to be on. Sometimes, it is in subtle ways. Sometimes, it is so blatantly obvious, but we must be ready to receive it. I related to so much of her journey minus the marrying, but with each relationship with men I have found myself in, it has never worked out to my advantage. I see now that it is because there is something bigger and better out there for me. Holding on to a fantasy is just a distraction. Anna moving to Paris gives me so much inspiration because I feel deep down in my heart that a big part of my journey will require me to relocate to another country. Thank you, Anna, for sharing your story and giving us all hppe for what's to come in the face of life's challenges and sometimes tragedies. I highly recommend anyone feeling a little lost or longing for more to read/listen to this novel. If for nothing else, being transported into her beautiful journey and ending in Paris will not disappoint. I couldn't stop smiling.

Being Nice is Cool

I just finished listening to this book. It really resonated with me. I was so impressed with how relevant Fran's content is especially in today’s world. I believe that women in leadership roles is an essential part of business and in major corporations. Being able to perform in a way that it authentic to our being makes a huge difference. If that means leading with kindness or compassion even better. I believe that there is space out there for everyone and I also believe that in order to evolve we need to embrace a more diverse workforce at all levels, especially at the top. Fran Hauser is a great role model of making it to the top on her own terms. A must read!

Loved this first hand account

It was nice to hear another perspective of what Harry and Meghan have gone thru. Their story of finding each other is so beautiful and one that I someday hope to experience. I am so inspired at how they made the difficult decision together to do what was right for them and their lives. Yes they may have sacrificed their duties to the monarch, but it was well worth it to have the peace that they longed for. Isn't that what we all want? No amount of money will ever bring you happiness because happiness cannot be purchased. It's what's inside you and this can only be achieved by reaching a level of peace. I wish them well and Godspeed. I hope one day that our paths will cross working on mutually important causes.

Thought provoking

I was deeply moved by this book. I am a huge fan of Oprah of course and try to watch religiously, her SuperSoul Sunday’s. It reenergizes me for the week. This book is well written with lots of aha moments and tweetable quotes, as Oprah always says. I would highly recommend it for anyone feeling a little lost in what they are doing. This will get you back to what matters most.
