Histoire
When Michael Pollan set out to research how LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) are being used to provide relief to people suffering from difficult-to-treat conditions such as depression, addiction, and anxiety, he did not intend to write what is undoubtedly his most personal book. But upon discovering how these remarkable substances are improving the lives not only of the mentally ill but also of healthy people coming to grips with the challenges of everyday life, he decided to explore the landscape of the mind in the first person as well as the third.

Thoughtful

I really enjoyed this book. I've used psychedelics off and on, including microdosing, and what I've found in the "psychonaut" world is there is not a lot of tolerable or thoughtful material available. There's a good body of old and emerging clinical research which is great to read and was great to have synthesized in this book, but the media that is typically available regarding psychedelics is usually very inane...I'm looking at you 45 minute trip report YT videos. This was a refreshing surprise. #Audible1

Can what you eat determine how long, and how well, you live? The clinically proven answer is yes, and The Longevity Diet is easier to follow than you'd think. The culmination of 25 years of research on aging, nutrition, and disease across the globe, this unique program lays out a simple solution to living to a healthy old age through nutrition. The key is combining the healthy everyday eating plan the audiobook outlines, with the scientifically engineered fasting-mimicking diet, or FMD.

An actual nutrition book

Of all the diet and nutrition books out there, this is one of the best. I've followed Dr. Longo's research for awhile so when I heard that he had written a book based on his and his peer's research I was excited. I wasn't disappointed. This book explores the science behind his and other longevity researcher's claims and also has practical advice and protocols for everyone. I have already purchased this book for several family members who have MS and they are starting to feel a difference after adopting the outlined protocol for MS patients.
