Right off the bat, a book about people who made a ton of money and were set on a very healthy trajectory for their finances telling you how that made them unfulfilled.
I can see why, but it's very hard to relate for us "regular people" who are trying to figure out how to escape the paycheck to paycheck cycle.
As a christian, I do not adhere to the idea that you should try to work on being financially free and then make sure you stop making money... which is what I got from this book.
I personally believe that if you have the ability to make A LOT of money, it's an asset for the kingdom as long as you invest it in the kingdom.
With a title like "True riches" I was expecting to learn more about what the true riches are, and I was disappointed in that.
I did enjoy and was moved by the stories.

the title is very misleading. i thought i would hear about the results of research supporting the paradigm that what we believe and the way we perceive directly affects our physiology. because it is called "biology of belief" i thiught thrre would be some mechanism described.
however, i enjoyed the way the author described how wrong science was when looking at genes as the explanation for manifestations.
i would highly recommend this book to people with little to no background in science. maybe not so much for someone who is more knowledgeable.
the narrator also does a really great job with a very conversational tone that makes it very easy to listen.

This serie is absolutely useless and very biased. Saying that what you eat doesn't matter for your weight is nonesense. Not all foods are created equal, it brushes off an ancestral approach to nutrition, and it doesn't really give any insight on how to lose weight for people who don't have time to cook real food.
Weight management is very specific to each individual. The extra kilos put on after menopause are very different from the ones put one by a man under 45 like the person who presents this serie.
If the topic of weight management and nutrition is of interest for you, you're better off listening to the habit formation and behavior serie or work with a health coach.
don't waste any time listening to this

This book is essential to making healthy and thriving new humans. Lily Nichols did such an amazing job at compiling and communicating the research showing evidence for whole food, and natural sources of nutrients. I will absolutely recommend this to all the ladies I know who want to have babies.
The author manages to stay engaging all along, which can be challenging for a nutrition book.
It's a great way to connect with yourself when preparing to be a mother.

I really appreciate the content of the book, it is thorough in reviewing differences between Igen, millenials and boomers, and does a good job at backing the data with testimonials. It has great insights on understanding a new generation and helps bridging a gap.
However I found the writing quite typical of an academic. If there is a PDF with the book, I did not find the figures cited as supporting material, which made the delivery of numbers and facts more tedious.
I did not find the writing compelling, and the narration did not help. The reading did not make the overall presentation more engaging.
I recommend the book for the value it brings, but would maybe get the hard copy instead of the audio version.

Stimulating, clear, and nicely written. It's really great when scientists can write and Carlo Rovelli is one of them. i would say it's the right balance between physics and philosophy.
And having Benedict Cumberbatch as a narrator makes this book so pleasing to listen to.

I am grateful for David Goggins sharing the story of his life. It's the support to becoming my true self I haven't found in friends. it's the example of what is possible when you push throughthe pain.
I love that David Goggins and Adam Skolnick have included challenges at the end of each chapters, as they are a call to action and practical tools to everyone who are interested in bettering themselves and discover how much they're capable of. I also love the raw tone. there is no sugar coating, David Goggins doesn't try to spare your feelings and truth is the only way you can start a journey to be your best.
I will recommend this book for inspiration and self development.

A guide in face of chaos

In a dense work that carefully stacks different layers of the human psyche, from neuroanatomical structures to philosophical and psychological perspectives. Jordan Peterson exposes archetypal concepts that have been forgotten or overlooked by the modern mind. Using the commonalities of myths throughout cultures and history, as well as ideas formulated by Nietzsche and Jung, he puts Truth and the individual as the creative forces that move mankind forward.
The language is precise but very dense and makes the audiobook version a bit daunting. I have played and replayed parts of it to absorb each word.
I think it's a book to go to when in face of too much chaos in your life, when in despair, when you need to make sense of existence and your place in the world.

Scott Adams' life is a fun and funny story of accumulating a wealth of knowledge amidst a series of failures. Would have been great to have him narrate as a crowning achievement to the entire story arc.
