The narrator doesn't now how to tell a story

It's like each sentence runs into each other. there's no clear difference in speakers when reading dialogue. it's like listening to a computer speak. and i think there's something wrong with the audio because it seems to skip and replay sentences.

The narrator spoiled it for me

I had to stop halfway through the first story because I couldn't listen to the narrator anymore. I don't know if she does it on purpose or if that's just her reading voice but it's hard to pay attention to the story. She has this not quite sing-songy, not quite monotone, I don't know what. Like it has a haunting, droll tone to it. I can't listen it anymore, regardless of my inability to accurately describe it. You would think it would serve Edgar Allan Poe well, but no. I'll have to return this book since she narrates the whole thing. Pity.

Welcome to a refreshing and gloriously unapologetic conversation about health, fitness, and habits. Award-winning trainer Oonagh Duncan cuts through the wellness clutter to drop some truth bombs: It might not be six-pack abs you're looking for - it might be happiness, confidence, and acceptance. But if losing your belly is what you want, don't let anyone - including yourself - stop you from going after it. And she'll show you how to make it happen.

Very geared toward middle aged moms

Although I loved the overall tone, it was hard to get passed the fact that the target audience is not only obvious but heavily referenced. I get that it's a self help book for weight loss and healthy living. It's just that I'm a 28 year old woman with no children. I haven't been seeking the weight loss secret for 10+ years. I don't give myself all day every day to my family. Maybe I'm in the minority here, that's okay. I just had to work a little harder to connect with the message. I will say, I love that Oonagh is a child of the 70s/80s because I love all the retro references and the playlists are amazing. I just wish they were on spotify and not Google music, though. Oh well!
