Despite the interesting concept, overall this book was disappointing.
The story being predictable would be an understatement. Writing twists can be hard but I can't think of one twist in the book that I found surprising or thrilling. By the time the reveals happened you end up feeling bored since they were so obvious.
The book felt like it came from the imagination of an eighth grader. The "drama" was childish and unrealistic.
This book is good enough that I finished it but I wouldn't recommend it.

Very enjoyable

I really liked the book but at times the narration seemed lazy. Switching from professional recording to live shows was jarring to me. I really enjoyed the professionally recorded material and felt they did a great job. I think they included live readings in it to involve the podcast in some way but I felt it disrupted the flow of the book.
I can't say I had just one favorite part of the book. I loved their honesty and their advice. I like that they seemed to really grow from their mistakes. I hope that in the future they will work on another because overall it was a very enjoyable.

My mother left me these memories and many more during my traumatic childhood. After many years of struggling with trying to understand "Why me?" I took back control of my life and started saying, "It was me, now what am I going to do?" The answer is my book, "Why Me?"

Excellent book

This is the first Ann Rule book I have listened to but it was excellent. I chose it for the content and the length and I was suprised just how quickly it went by.
I looked forward to continuing where I left off from and to find out what would happen next. When I would leave the book it was one that lingered with me.
If you enjoy true crime I suggest giving this a listen. It was well written, well read and very informative.
