I LOVED IT!
I didn't really know what to expect, but I am so glad I gave it a shot; I really liked how the Vampyres, Werewolves, and humans know of each other.
I thought it was a unique spin on this type of paranormal world. I definitely predicted a few things but that didn't really bother me too much because the characters really are lovely. And I was rooting for Misery right from the beginning.
I didn't predict the ending like at all, that threw me for a little bit of a loop but I do love how it turned out. I can see we might be getting more books in this world, and I am here for it!
LOVED the narration, Therese is completely a favourite, she really does give a unique voice to all the characters, and I love it. Will Damron wasn't really featured, but for small snippets, and that's fine.

Histoire
The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people-pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs. Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down.

I won't lie academia goes over my head. I can freely admit it and I don't even care because the story was fun and witty and I just enjoyed the heck of this book.
I wish I was half as sharp as Elsie and her ability to adapt to any situation is kinda of awe-inspiring.
Jack is thrown for a loop and I kinda loved that. He totally fell first. Even if he was conflicted.
The whole book is just funny and charming, and very intelligent. It was a true escape from the real world for me.
Therese Plummer knocks it out of the park with this one. She is fantastic at bringing a book to life in a way I wouldn't have enjoyed as much without her voice.

Histoire
With gold-medalist parents and her older sister headed to the Olympics, all she wants is to live up to the family name and stand atop the ice dance podium at the Junior World Championships. But fame doesn’t always mean fortune, and their legendary skating rink is struggling under the weight of her dad’s lavish lifestyle. The only thing keeping it afloat is a deal to host the rest of the Junior Worlds team before they leave for France. That means training on the same ice as her first crush, Freddie, the partner she left when her growth spurt outpaced his.

Meh, I wanted to love it.
But she has a selfish sister and a selfish father, and it feels like Cinderella, only she doesn't feel sorry for herself.
She just does what needs to be done but never confronts her family. It was all very meh.
The fake dating was ok, but the dodging feelings and not really being truthful didn't really work for me.
If you like someone, tell them; if you don't, tell them. The truth is so much better than the dramalama.
Then, when Adriana finally blew up, it was like too little, too late for me.
The narration was the best part for me. Jennifer Jill Araya was a new narrator to me, and I really enjoyed it.
