Histoire
It’s December 19, 1931. Hercule Poirot and Inspector Edward Catchpool are looking forward to a much-needed, restful Christmas holiday, when they are called upon to investigate the murder of a man in a Norfolk hospital ward. Cynthia Catchpool, Edward’s mother, insists that Poirot stay with her in a crumbling mansion by the coast, so that they can all be together for the festive period while he solves the case.

I appreciated this Sophie Hannah Poirot story for it's less complicated storyline (other Sophie Hannah Poirot stories are so twisty and complicated - much more than Agatha Christie herself!) as with the other S.H. stories, there is a beautiful, poignant and sad background that acts as the foundation to the story. I love the tragic yet redemptive story arch of the criminal.

Histoire
Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

He brings the book alive with his narrative. I also highly recommend the Lord of the Rings trilogy, also narrated by him.
