Good but not great

I had a hard time getting behind the concept of this one and a harder time getting behind the narration. While I don’t dislike Wil Wheaton I just don’t find his voice suiting to this story. Maybe he was trying to be a bit flatter to play off emotionless robot idea? But overall I feel like his narration hurt the story for me.

A great story

I bought this book mostly because of the show that is based on it. While I haven’t seen the show yet, what I knew intrigued me and I wanted to read the book.
It was worth it. The book eases you in to the life of minnow by essentially starting her tale in the middle of her story. There’s so much intrigue and gentle reader and before I knew it I’d listened to half the book! Certain recommend this one!

Designed as a trilogy

I really got into this book. Hooked. The world that has been built the characters and the drama. It grabbed me straight away and didn’t let go.
The narration is on point with the voices to help distinguish characters and I could not stop listening to this book.

Until the end. Which isn’t so much an ending as it is the first part of a larger series. I was disappointed that I didn’t get a satisfaction or really any plot points wrapped up before spiralling into the next plot point that takes place in a different book.
I think on the whole I’ll love this series. But as a stand alone book this was disappointing. #Audible1

While I really enjoyed this book for the information and insight it provided, I don’t feel that it is easy to follow as an audio book. There’s so many references to types only as numbers that if you’re not familiar with what each of the numbers correlates to you’ll quickly become lost.
I had to listen to this with a website open that detailed enneagram so I could try to follow along. Especially in the first few chapters as I had no former knowledge of enneagrams coming into this book.
That being said it’s a very informative book. I just wish I had read it in text so I would have the option to flip back and forth and reference previous chapters. #Audible1

I really appreciate the Anna narrates this herself. It really adds to her stories and the minor tweaks where she clearly has changed “dear reader” to “dear listener” is the sweetest attention to detail that really gave me the feeling that she cares about those she’s sharing her story with. #Audible1
