Horrible performance - bad story
Évalué le: 2024-04-19
The audiobook performance was so grating. the. Stop. Start. Abrupt. Nonsense. Pace of the reader was maddening. Like a horrible imitation of William shatner. And the accents… every single one was forced and off. It was very hard to focus on the story. However, I doubt even a superb performance would have made this story interesting. The writing felt scattered and inauthentic. I didn’t care about any of the characters or connect with them in any way. I just wanted it to end… and when it did, it was deeply unsatisfying. Very disappointing.

So boring...
Évalué le: 2023-04-27
This was honestly one of the most boring stories I have ever read. I couldn't even get through the whole book. I kept hoping that it would get better, but it never did. The descriptions were bad, the narration was annoying, and the characters were insufferable and one dimensional. Just no.

Surprised at the positive reviews
Évalué le: 2021-01-03
I am honestly surprised at the number of positive reviews for this book. I had to force myself to finish it. The writing was rambling and simplistic. At times it felt like I was listening to a commercial for Apple, which irritated me to no end. The premise of the story, while interesting at first, fell flat pretty quickly. We get it...it is a chain, you don't have to repeat it 500 times. The reasoning behind why the chain existed, how long it lasted outside of the knowledge of law enforcement, even while a main character was employed with a federal police agency was laughable. The character's felt one dimensional, and unoriginal, while the climax of the story was predictable and boring. I will probably pass on other titles by this author in the future.
