This set of books is... Ambitious, and the guy stuck the landing. He actually did it. Listen to this book (but not before the other books, and maybe listen to some of the other connected books not listed, and maybe read that short story about Cowboy's adventures in Egypt).

Boring stuff happens to ppl you don't care about..

Boring stuff happens to characters you don't care about that, and it doesn't really build the world for the other books.
Kept listening, hoping it would get better, but it doesn't.
If you're going with the Audible version, the male narrator is ok, but I found the female narrator can be somewhat sibilant, and it's pretty painful at times.

If you didn't know that Robinson is building a meta-universe, then you should check his website first, but this is a great addition that starts to fill in some gaps and tie-ins

If you liked the last books, Rowe is at the top of his game. Definitely more laugh-out-loud moments here than the previous books, and a peak behind some of the curtains.

Pretty good once you get past...

Bland story saved by a fantastic performance

I loved Peter Clines previous works, but the character development in this story was almost non-existent. I couldn't even differentiate the characters, or remember their names until halfway through.
There wasn't really any story development either. it just sortof 'happens' and I didn't feel invested at all.
By the time I finished the audiobook, I didn't feel like I learned really anything about the universe that Clines is trying to build, and I still didn't care about any of the characters.
Skip this one and reread/listen to one of Clines' other books.
