W.O.W... What a book!!

I stumbled upon this book through a Daily Deal. Generally, I bypass books read by the aithor. But I enjoyed his voice in the preview, so took a chance and bought it. I was HOOKED. I loved his narration and his amusement at the stupidity of criminals. I enjoyed listening and was enthralled by his true crime stories that are so unbelievable that if it had been a book of fiction, it would have seemed silly. Don't pass this one by. Use a credit, or pay full price. It's absolutely worth it.

This is a great story. Very gripping. The narration suits the character. I kept thinking, while listening to the book, that it would be a good movie. Turns out, it has been made into one. Off to watch that now...

I enjoyed the book. I found it to be an easy listen and it kept me engaged. I enjoy Scott Brick's narration. I have listened to many, many books by him and he rarely disappoints. I will purchase book 2 of this series.

I ALWAYS listen to the book sample before purchasing. The sample for this book was a male voice. It was decent, so I bought it.. But the majority of the book is read by a female voice, that if I was to call atrocious, would be a compliment. I can't really comment on the overall book because the female narrator is impossible to tolerate. I only played it long enough so Audible would allow me to leave a review to spare other listeners of this horrible experience. Go listen to nails scraped on a chalk board for 10 hours, it would be more enjoyable.

so bad I don't know where to start

This book is sooooo bad. From the terrible story, to the repetitive content (we GET he has four kids), to the CRINGEY "banter" between them, but most of all, the constant, stupid, incorrect assumptions. These agents are clearly idiots. I can't believe the Reacher frachise allowed this book to even be published, let alone use the Jack Reacher name. And they actually managed to find a narrator as terrible as the book...terrible accents that come and go, stucco fire delivery, it was completely painful. The entire thing. It doesn't even deserve one star.

When deciding to purchase a book, I always listen to the sample to make sure I like the narrator. With this book, the sample is not a proper representation of the narration. It is one of the WORST I have come across from Audible. I couldn't even get through the second chapter. I can't speak to the story, but if this plot interests you, read the book. Do not listen to it. No one should be subjected to the torture of this narration.
