À propos de cet audio
From Peter Mayle, a wonderful new novel steeped in wine - and the business of wine - and set in, bien sûr, Provence.
Max Skinner is not exactly setting the London financial world on fire - and when his supervisor steals his biggest client, it’s definitely time to inspect the vineyard in Provence that his recently departed uncle left him. Heartily and happily distracted upon his arrival by the landscape, the weather, and the food - not to mention the gorgeous notaire handling the estate and the stunning owner of the local bistro - Max almost forgets about his inherited property.
Which might have been a good idea, because the wine produced there is swill. But then why, Max has to wonder, is his caretaker so anxious to acquire the land? When a beautiful young woman from California arrives with what might be a legitimate claim on the estate, and knowledge of vineyards that far outstrips Max’s own, the plot begins its twists and turns into and out of truly wonderful complications and resolutions.
This is luscious listening - soothing us with the sensual wonders of Provence while it tells a fascinating tale of the hugely lucrative and competitive boutique-wine trade. It is Peter Mayle’s most satisfying, most delectable novel yet.

Comatose stage after a home cooked meal in a French’s home
I saw the movie which is great, but the book is FANTASTIC!!! The description of how it feels like for a “rookie” eating a home cooked meal in France is just perfect, along with all the situations in which french country people are described. The book might be fictional, but it should be said it is “based in actual events”. Loved it. This book Is a must if you cohabitate or come in contact in a regular basis with french people (and off course you are not french).

As Good or Better Than the Movie
I had watched the movie first and liked it. I then decided to check out the book. I was pleasantly surprised. it was every bit as good as the movie and I think they could have made the movie closer to the book and it would even have been better.

Reminds me of sunny days spent at my mom's house
There is something special and unique with Peter Mayle's books, and this one was one of my favourites well worth a listen (and how different the movie was from the book, I'd rather if they had made the movie exactly like the book),
