Could be her best

This could be George's best novel. I 've read it twice and listening was a treat. The voices and accents aren't too exaggerated - just right or maybe just a little more Yorkshire when suitable. There's an abridged version you should stay away from - with different narrator. I think in this version the narrator actually understood and liked what she read. Listening highlights George's amazing talent at developing characters, plot and beautiful prose...even describing very ugly things.
I will definitely choose Donata Peters as a narrator for another Lynley-Havers novel again.

Excellent

I have read this novel before and being a big Elizabeth George fan, thought an audio version would be interesting during a long road trip. I was not disappointed and have created another fan for Elizabeth George in my travel partner. The narration was so good that I was not at all bothered by the use of only narrator as I have been for other audiobooks. Simply excellent. Bravo. Looking forward to the next book!

Not very good

I could not finish this story. So drawn out, so much unnecessary details. It takes several hours into the book to finally have the inspectors investigate the murder. The narrator was ok but hard to concentrate on her voice. I would not recommend this book.
