À propos de cet audio
Internationally acclaimed best-selling author Byron Katie's most anticipated work since Loving What Is.
In A Mind at Home with Itself, Byron Katie illuminates one of the most profound ancient Buddhist texts, The Diamond Sutra (newly translated by distinguished scholar Stephen Mitchell), to reveal the nature of the mind and to liberate us from painful thoughts, using her revolutionary system of self-inquiry called "The Work". Byron Katie doesn't merely describe the awakened mind; she empowers us to see it and feel it in action. At once startlingly fresh and powerfully enlightening, A Mind at Home with Itself offers us a transformative new perspective on life and death and is certain to become a classic.
In the midst of a normal American life, Byron Katie became increasingly depressed and, over a 10-year period, sank further into despair and suicidal thoughts. Then, one morning in 1986, she woke up in a state of absolute joy, filled with the realization of how her own suffering had ended. The freedom of that realization has never left her. Its direct result, The Work, has helped millions of people all over the world to question their stressful thoughts and set themselves free from suffering.

Stephen Mitchell, the renowned translator of the Tao Te Ching, selected excerpts from that ancient text as a stimulus for Byron Katie to talk about the most essential issues that face us all: life and death, good and evil, love, work, and fulfillment. The result is an audiobook that allows the timeless insights of the Tao Te Ching to resonate anew for us today, while offering a vivid and illuminating glimpse into the life of someone who lives what Lao-tzu wrote more than 2,500 years ago.

The Work is simply four questions that, when applied to a specific problem, enable you to see what is troubling you in an entirely different light. As Katie says, "It's not the problem that causes our suffering; it's our thinking about the problem." Contrary to popular belief, trying to let go of a painful thought never works; instead, once we have done The Work, the thought lets go of us. At that point we can truly love what is, just as it is.

Histoire
Marianne Williamson is a best-selling author, a world-renowned teacher, and one of the most important spiritual voices of our time. In Tears to Triumph, she argues that we - as a culture and as individuals - have learned to avoid facing pain. By doing so we are neglecting the spiritual work of healing. Instead of allowing ourselves to embrace our hurt, we numb it, medicate it, dismiss it, or otherwise divert our attention so that we never have to face it.

The “Seth Books” by Jane Roberts are world-renowned for comprising one of the most profound bodies of work ever written on the true nature of reality. In this perennial bestseller, Seth tells listeners how we create our personal reality through our conscious beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. His message is clear: We are not at the mercy of the subconscious or helpless before forces we cannot understand. Seth challenges our assumptions about the nature of reality and stresses the individual’s capacity for conscious actions.

Profoundly powerful beyond words
I didn't know what to expect but, my God, having both Byron and Stephen reading this is a jewel of indescribable value. The message here, the lessons, the Presence of both these reflections of the awakened mind, shifts the listener every so gently and potently. I have listened to it more than once and will continue to listen to it repeatedly. This is transformative in every sense of the word. Deeply grateful for this.

Own your life
An awesome presentation of a way to find peace in this world we live in. You are responsible for every thought you have. Don’t judge. When you do you will be miserable. We must learn to co exist in this life with no anger nor blame. You are exactly what you yourself sees things happening through unconditional discovery of “turn around “. You must own your feelings.

So wonderful to hear Katie reflect on the profound teaching of the diamond sutra. If you have read her other work and want something that explains more fully the processes behind The Work this is one way of understanding.

I am grateful for "The Work" - Life changing
I finished once and I wanted to share how amazing is this book. I had some shallow knowledges and background about "The Work" around in 2 years ago. Sometimes, it worked and often time didn't work completely because I was quite arrogant of having the I know mind to treat "The Work" as a tool for me to function as a pain & stress reliever but myself/ego remained in the illusion.
In 2023 was an eventful year for me, life had manifested to me on the things that didn't work in my life. I realised my mind & thoughts were so active and busy all the time. I often easily took things personally and made every things a big deal. It was tiring and anxiety just kept looping. I had enough and willingly to face my situation. Thank you to this realisation and had became the fuel for me to pick up "The Work" again and do it with other people who were passionate in "The Work". I am blessed "The Work" is the clarity and pointing me to discover the Reality and the Truth. It was a meditative process to go through the 4 questions.
Gradually, each of my identities are falling apart now. Thanks to the "The Work" and my wife because she has been sharing and prompting "The Work" in Asia. I have been witnessing the impact on one's life. I don't need to be spiritual. I just need to be honest to myself with an open mind and open heart. Definitely, I will revisit this book couple times and take note.

Disappointing!
I bough "loving what is" and loved it. It was clear and to the point. Thought this one will continue where the previous book left off. Instead, it kept rambling about the diamond sutra and the Budha with very little useful content. Unless you are into this kind of thing, you'll be very disappointed!
