Shadows
To be or not to be
A Valley of Shadows is about an experience. The journey through the valley is from the experience of the author, but the wilderness isn’t exclusive to an individual.
We have probably all had that experience as a child. The shadows we saw could create laughter or terror based on our perception. Is it a hand or a dog? A coat or a monster? In fear, the feeling of dread lingers, but when light comes it’s exposed.
Shadows are part darkness and part light. The perception of the individual creates the power of a shadow. Half empty or half full. We can see circumstances from the place of fear and darkness or from faith and light.
The Valley is a place where we all unconsciously find ourselves. A place were decisions create paths. The author describes the dark place she found herself in after an unexpected event. An unpredicted homicidal attempt is where the journey begins.
The book touches modern-day challenges like mental health, the torment of rejection and loneliness, and the dangers of unforgiveness, suicide, and guilt.
The author uses her journey in parallel with the internal struggles we all face. The unforeseen situations we see are not setbacks but stepping-stones to the table that will be set before us in the presence of the enemy.
