À propos de cet audio
After more than twenty years in prison, Adnan Syed’s murder conviction was overturned, and he was finally set free. Rabia Chaudry’s New York Times bestseller and award-winner Adnan’s Story reveals how the case was mishandled and became the subject of Sarah Koenig’s Peabody Award-winning podcast Serial.
In early 2000, Adnan Syed was convicted and sentenced to life plus thirty years for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee, a high school senior in Baltimore, Maryland. Syed has maintained his innocence, and Rabia Chaudry, a family friend, has always believed him. By 2013, after almost all appeals had been exhausted, Rabia contacted Sarah Koenig, a producer at This American Life, in hopes of finding a journalist who could shed light on Adnan’s story. In 2014, Koenig's investigation turned into Serial, a Peabody Award-winning podcast with more than 500 million international listeners.
But Serial did not tell the whole story. In this compelling narrative, Rabia Chaudry presents key evidence that she maintains dismantles the State’s case: a potential new suspect, forensics indicating Hae was killed and kept somewhere for almost half a day, and documentation withheld by the State that destroys the cell phone evidence—among many other points—and she shows how fans of Serial joined a crowd-sourced investigation into a case riddled with errors and strange twists. Featuring information about Adnan’s life in prison, and weaving in his personal reflections with never-before-seen letters, Rabia’s account is “a true story about real people. Adnan’s Story adds context and humanizes it in a way that could change how you think about the case and about Serial itself” (Los Angeles Times).
“Chaudry’s clear, vivid and highly readable account of the case will bring the story to life for readers unfamiliar with the podcast, and even the most devoted Serial fans will find fresh insight and a vast amount of new material. Chaudry’s legal training serves her well as she marshals her defense, but so too does the Pakistani heritage and Muslim faith she shares with Syed.” —Washington Post

"'Serial' barely scratched the surface of Adnan's case, and Chaudry's writing and narration show her skilled legal mind at work as she tries to piece together what happened." - AudioFile Magazine

Amazing book! A must read/listen. Rabin has a great voice to listen to. A much more in depth look at Adnan’s story than Serial. It leaves one seriously questioning the justice system

wow well put together
Amazing, the story was extremely well told. it is extremely disturbing to know the law that should protect the innocent is putting those same ppl behind bars and framing them for heinous crimes solely sure to their race and ethnicity. disgusting!

Amazingly detailed look at the story made famous by the Serial podcast. Hearing things from Adnan's point of view was enlightening. There is no reason this man should still be behind bars. An absolute miscarriage of justice to the nth degree.

I am heartbroken...
I have followed Adnan's story since being introduced to Serial, but after Rabia's book my heart is broken. I am left with a knot in my throat and a heavy heart. Thank you, Rabia. I pray Adnan is freed soon and is blessed with tremendous amount of happiness for all the suffering he has endured.

If you’re interested in the nitty gritty details of this case, definitely give this a read.
If you’re a big fan of Serial S1 and you love the diving into the minutiae, you will enjoy this book. Rabia can be challenging to listen to at times, she is clearly bias and refuses to leave out a single detail, which can be boring, however she does a fantastic job telling the bigger picture of what went on in this case. Fascinating new details and theories are brought to light and it is always a nice touch hearing the book from the author themselves.

A BTS look to what unfolded during Adnan’s Trial
Rabia has outdone herself with this book .. from start to finish you are feeling every emotion with them. From sadness, to frustration, to annoyance to the occasional laugh to disappoint.. you feel it all. Incredibly detailed and binge-able. For someone who listened to both the Serial podcast and undisclosed alongside the HBO special… and to knowing what we know now (in 2023.. Yay Adnan!) it still provided so much more insight into the case. A must listen!!

Interesting for a few chapters.
The first few chapters were quite interesting. However, the story was way too long! It was rambling, disjointed, and confusing! I eventually lost interest, skipped to the last two chapters, and was glad I had not wasted my time, listening to the long plodding narrative. I do love Audible, and will continue listening. I’ve listened to several great books, and look forward to listening to many more. Not everyone has the same taste. Adnan’s Story, was not for me, however, other people may enjoy listening.
