À propos de cet audio
This omnibus edition contains Survival (book 1) and Humanity (book 2) of the After It Happened series.
Survival, book 1:
Set in the UK in the immediate aftermath of a mysterious illness which swept the country and left millions dead, the series follows the trials facing a reluctant hero, Dan, and the group he forms around him. They must battle the elements, find sufficient supplies and equipment to survive, and protect themselves against the most destructive force on the planet: other people.
Banding together those he found along the way, he has to fight to keep them safe.
To keep them alive. To survive.
Humanity, book 2:
The survivors have established a home, but they still have to face the brutality of human nature.
Not only do they have to survive, they must keep their humanity.

Ranger Quinn thought that morning would be like so many others. A hangover, a day off before going back to work keeping the lower levels of Zion City safe from itself. But a crime so horrific, so brutal in its execution, turns those mundane expectations around. An investigation into the death of a senior leader in their underground utopia safe from the harsh radioactive wastelands beyond their walls forces Quinn beyond that safety and into the world outside.

Histoire
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

Enjoyable
Fairly standard post apocalyptic storyline. The thing that set this one ahead of the pack is the characters. Everyone in the book feels like a distinct person. Bray doing English accents is a little painful but he lays off after a couple chapters. If you're a fan of the genre I recommend it.

Nice Welcome To Audiobooks
I tried to listen to a few fantasy audiobooks, but they were very hard to keep up with. Then I stumbled across audible.ca and the "post-apocalyptic" section which is the other genre I prefer... and I must say the format lends itself perfectly to an audiobook.
'After It Happened' is a great story so far. I plan to continue the series as I get through my enormous backlog of books I need to read (and now listen to).

A good survival series.
I love R.C Bray and picked this series because of him not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and listened to all 6 books. The characters are well thought out and the story gives you an interesting view of what the end of the world looks like. I enjoyed not only the build up to the action events but also the downtime of the actual story and character build up.

It is rare to find a post apocalyptic story so moving, funny, and inspiring. The stories that illustrate productive community give my hope for my fellow man in this time when people seem so angry.

great narration and really well written
the usual apocalypse cliches, but still very entertaining. Was slow at times but the action happens rather abruptly and I would say it's pretty decent although the character development could use a bit of work. Many of the characters do have well defined to dimensional personalities that are your typical ones but I feel the could have done a lot more to explain the backstory of some of these people perhaps they will in future books.
