For years, Starfleet Intelligence agents have carried out undercover assignments deep within the Klingon Empire. Admittedly, reader Robert Petkoff occasionally employs injudicious William Shatner/Leonard Nimoy/James Doohan/etc impressions.. but I found the performance otherwise outstanding. His carefully professional narration and enthusiastic tone prove that he is a genuine fan of the Star Trek (TM) universe.
In toto, 'Agents Of Influence' merits 9.5 stars out of 10. It's a strikingly mature SciFi story elaborating on Gene Roddenberry's vision and enriching well-loved characters that we first met in the 1960s.
[I was blown away by the in-depth exploration of professionalism, skills, and personal qualities among the "supporting cast" in the Enterprise crew in this book - particularly Lieutenants Sulu & Uhura]
