Very slow and boring
I really liked most of the alien books. However, no aliens and plot is really slow and boring.

Great lore
I love the Alien series. This is a great way to dip into the Alien lore and understand the world even more. Your heart beats fast as the story is full of suspense and the narration is done in such a way that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend.

Pretty good
It's a good book. It was interesting to get some insight into Weyland-Yutani, and have Yutani featured as a character, I just didn't get into the book as much as the other audiobook tie-ins to the Alien franchise.
This was the first Alien story I've read without an Alien in it, so it had a hard task in overcoming that, and ultimately never did in my opinion.

Time line covered was just days..
Had high hopes for this, as a huge fan of Prometheus and covenant. The timeline covered in this installment is very short, the narration performance was excellent, and really save this read for me. Overall modest three out of five.

Don't fear. not a horror story
Deals with intrigue leading to the launch of the Covenant colony ship and gives a first glimpse of some foundational characters. It does play well standalone, but having an idea of what's coming highlights certain events and personages.
I haven't listened to the other books so my only preconditioning is from the movies. I mention this as a guide that it is not necessary to have taken in the series to enjoy the prequel. I *always* start with prequels when they exist, and refuse to go back in time to fit the creative disjunction of authors. If the prequel sucks I give the entire series a pass. This one's pretty interesting so I'm kinda looking forward to the next one.

NOT an Alien story
This is a detective story pure an simple. I know it’s an origins theme, but I would have expected something in line with the theme.

Kept my interest all the way
Really like this and if it's indicative of the series, I'll have a great time listening. The characters are easy to imagine and not overly detailed to constrict the images. The action is a good pace too, enough to make my long drives as a long distance truck driver fly by.
