À propos de cet audio
What If It's Us meets They Both Die at the End in this postapocalyptic, queer YA adventure romance from debut author Erik J. Brown. Perfect for fans of Adam Silvera, Alex London, and Heartstopper by Alice Oseman.
When Andrew stumbles upon Jamie’s house, he’s injured, starved, and has nothing left to lose. A deadly pathogen has killed off most of the world’s population, including everyone both boys have ever loved. And if this new world has taught them anything, it’s to be scared of what other desperate people will do . . . so why does it seem so easy for them to trust each other?
After danger breaches their shelter, they flee south in search of civilization. But something isn’t adding up about Andrew’s story, and it could cost them everything. And Jamie has a secret, too. He’s starting to feel something more than friendship for Andrew, adding another layer of fear and confusion to an already tumultuous journey.
The road ahead of them is long, and to survive, they’ll have to shed their secrets, face the consequences of their actions, and find the courage to fight for the future they desire, together. Only one thing feels certain: all that’s left in their world is the undeniable pull they have toward each other.

The place he was traded from as a changeling-baby, and a place he is terrified of. Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things. But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them? Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

If only he didn’t have to deal with Clay Parker, the infuriatingly smug data analyst who gets under Thom’s skin like it’s his job. Crest is not excited to be on their Journey: the month-long sojourn on land all teen merfolk must undergo. The rules are simple: Help a human within one moon cycle and return to Pacifica to become an Elder—or fail and remain stuck on land forever. Crest is eager to get their Journey over and done with. Humans are disgusting. They’ve polluted the planet so much that there’s a floating island of trash that’s literally the size of a country.

A masterpiece in storytelling - a "must-read" for fans of the genre.
This audiobook was truly spectacular. Historically I've shied away from the post-apocalyptic genre - too jaded from the Walking Dead, The Last of Us, and similar stories to want to dive into the genre again. However, this audiobook was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm happy that I took the leap of faith, as it's become one of my all-time favorite novels.
Erik J. Brown captures both the innocence and awkwardness of teenaged friendship perfectly, combining it with the terror and suspense of a post-apocalyptic landscape that leads listeners through a roller-coaster of emotions. The way that Brown perfectly portrays the protagonists Andrew and Jamieson is stunning, and the masterful character development they undergo as they lead us on their epic journey is nothing short of spectacular.
Brown also does a tremendous job of immersing us fully into post-apocalyptic USA. The settings of each chapter are gorgeously fleshed out, and all of the different locales the two boys visit are described in immaculate detail. Initially, many of the details regarding the setting are seemingly insignificant, but no detail is forgotten, or dismissed. And this consistency in wtory-telling truly places the reader/listener directly in the centre of the story.
While I certainly am known to be a bit emotional - I can say that this audiobook affectly me profoundly. There were times where tears were flowing freely down my face, whereas other instances had me full-on belly-laughing. There were also tender and sweet moments that made me smile, and the villains in this novel had me gripping my steering wheel in anger. Brown does an incredible job of immersing you in the emotions of his characters, and I can say that this was truly one of the best audiobooks I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
All That's Left in the World is a charming, intelligent work of art that has set a new standard for both post-apocalyptic story-telling, and the YA Romance genre as well. Five stars all the way, and the highest of praise for Erik J Brown for bringing this wonderful story to life.

Cute but not the most realistic
There were moments, especially earlier on, when I felt afraid for the characters, but as soon as I started to realize that everything was always going to keep working out for them, it no longer felt realistic. There were even moments I said out loud, “What?!” because I couldn’t understand why some characters did what they did. It was still a nice distraction to listen to, and some of the pop culture references were funny. I hope if there is an apocalypse, it turns out to be as safe as this fictional world was overall. Probably a better read for actual young adults rather than grown ones.

What it says on the tin:)
Realistic gay post apocalypse. I think the realistic is the most important part of this novel. There is action and adventure of course but there is also understanding of distances and all the downtime. Loved it and def worth the read (or listen).

One of my favorite books of the year so far
Well written queer romance, a great plot line and an apocalypse, all thats missing are the zombies to make this an instant favorite. I'm so glad that the romance had substance to it, I find that lacking in a lot of popular queer romance and its frustrating. I hope this book gets the love and appreciation it deserves.

This book made me write my first review!
I love it so much. Station Eleven but more queer and make it YA and VOILÀ!
So good, readers are brilliant and get the tone. It’s one of the few books that I’m glad I own and not borrowed from my listening library because it won’t be the last time.
I also love the acknowledgment of the spectrum of sexuality and introspection which exists in the lived experience.
Hoping there’s a sequel or another independent storyline that meets up here sometime before I die.
