The holidays are fast approaching and Dominique Miller finds herself running from California to Alabama to escape her abusive ex, Elliot Milford, with her cat, Selene in tow. For a moment of respite, she stops at a café and quickly realises that she is not as ahead of him as she thought.
Enter Edgar Himura, a truck driver passing by on his way to Georgia for a routine delivery. What originally starts out as kind gesture to wait with her for the police turns into an offer to take her along with him, which Dominique reluctantly accepts. But Elliot is not easily cast aside and is determined to bring Dominqiue back to California by any means necessary. As the holidays and their destination draw closer, the two find themselves falling in love while journeying towards the final confrontation with Elliot.
