As fine an introduction as there could be to Zen . . .
I was exposed to Zen through Alan Watts lectures, and thought that listening to the book that introduced him to Zen Buddhism would be a good place to start. Finding Zen is like the patterns you see when you close your eyes, as soon as you look at them, they disappear and you can't see them until you stop looking. On the surface It seems so esoteric, but that seems to be the point, there is nothing to learn, Zen is a way of viewing and interacting with the world that begins to appear with the right mindset. Who knows, ask me again in 10 years, I’m more curious than when I started, isn't that the mark of a great book!
