À propos de cet audio
"Entrancing...a great escape for any reader."--USA Today (four stars)
New York Times bestselling author Jenny Colgan brings us a delightful summer novel that will sweep you away to the remote Scottish island of Mure, where two very different weddings are about to take place…
On the little Scottish island of Mure—halfway between Scotland and Norway—Flora MacKenzie and her fiancé Joel are planning the smallest of “sweetheart weddings,” a high summer celebration surrounded only by those very dearest to them.
Not everyone on the island is happy about being excluded, though. The temperature rises even further when beautiful Olivia MacDonald—who left Mure ten years ago for bigger and brighter things—returns with a wedding planner in tow. Her fiancé has oodles of family money, and Olivia is determined to throw the biggest, most extravagant, most Instagrammable wedding possible. And she wants to do it at Flora’s hotel, the same weekend as Flora’s carefully planned micro-wedding.
As the summer solstice approaches, can Flora handle everyone else’s Happy Every Afters—and still get her own?

It's a place where everyone has known her all her life, where no one will let her forget the past. In bright, bustling London, she can be anonymous, ambitious...and hopelessly in love with her boss. But when fate brings Flora back to the island, she's suddenly swept once more into life with her brothers - all strapping, loud, and seemingly incapable of basic housework - and her father.

Posy Fairweather is over the moon when her boyfriend Matt proposes in what is probably the most romantic way possible—on top of a mountain, in a thunderstorm, like something from a Nicholas Sparks novel. But a few days later he dumps her. Crushed and humiliated, Posy wonders why all her romances have always been such train wrecks. Determined to gain some insight, Posy resolves to get online, track down her exes, and ask them. Which doors from Posy’s past should stay closed? Which might open? Can she learn from past mistakes?

Not my favourite out of the series
I have now read all five books in this series. I have enjoyed ‘getting to know’ the well developed and interesting characters who live on the Island of Mure. I did not enjoy this one as much as I did the other 4 books which proceeded it. It did provide some closure regarding some of the characters which I had hoped for. But, had this been the first one I had read, I would have quit 1/2 through. I found the dialogue in some of this book to be almost like a soap opera in some parts which were quite slow, predictable ( not all) repetitive and even at times petty.:, this was not typical of other writing from this author. Flora communicating with whales was far more convincing and believable than the contents of a very lavish party just showing up …given Mure’s remote location. And, given all the pros and cons of the young doctor’s situation with his family and the albeit difficult decision he had to make .. purposely choosing to put his kids at substantial potential danger when they were finally thriving and happy was a little disconcerting. I am not really sure how many parents under the same circumstances would realistically have made the choice he did, maybe that was the point she was trying to make. His choice seemed selfish and irresponsible to this reader, even though it was framed as in the best interest of the children, it seemed to go against the theme of the series. I was OK with not having everything workout perfectly. But, even though it was fiction, it left me concerned for the children. I think Jenny Colgan is a very talented writer, and I anticipate reading more of her work.. The narrator’s ability to capture a variety of diverse accents was enjoyable. I think a series of 5 is a lot and seems like she just ran out of steam with this one.
