À propos de cet audio

A Queer Retelling of Satan's Fall

In an eternal paradise, the most beautiful angel, Lucifer, struggles with shame, identity, and timidity, with little more than the desire to worship his creator.

It isn't until the strongest angel, Michael, comes into his life that Lucifer learns to love himself. Along the way, their friendship begins to bloom into something else. Maybe the first romance in the history of everything.

But this God is a jealous one, and maybe paradise is not paradise.

Contains mature themes.

The Angels had been given everything by God but did not realize He could just as easily take it away

First: it slightly irks me this story is described as queer, because it's not really. Only of you go of the absurd notion that all angels are male. Second: This beautiful and tragic story perfectly describes the circle of abuse. Lucifer is created as the most beautiful angel, yet is given extreme shame at his own beauty. Lucifer is given the most beautiful voice in heaven which of course God takes away on a whim. Lucifer is created as a very charismatic being able to sway other Angels as part of his function as the Angel of Worship and yet is chastised by other jealous angels for essentially being too good at his job. Lucifer is given a keen intelligence, beautiful illustrated throughout the narrative with thought provoking questions and idea's, yet is literally made mute when uncomfortable questions are asked. And at no point in any of this does God ever feel the need to explain it's increasingly abusive and arbitrary actions.
