À propos de cet audio

A Primarchs novel

The Twelfth Primarch has been found! United with the War Hounds - now renamed the World Eaters - the gladiator Angron gives his sons an ultimatum that will change their very nature, and their destiny.

Listen to it because:

You've seen the immediate aftermath of Angron's recruitment into the Imperium in the short story 'After Desh'ea' - now Ian St. Martin brings us the details of what happened next, and the World Eaters' adoption of the Butcher's Nails.

The story:

As the Emperor travels the galaxy at the head of his Great Crusade, few events are as important as rediscovering his scattered sons, the Primarchs, and bestowing them as the masters of their Legions. United, a Legion becomes a reflection of its Primarch, both in his strengths and his flaws. For the Twelfth Legion, once the War Hounds and now the World Eaters, the line between strength and flaw is almost impossible to separate. Placed in command of a Legion he does not want, in service to a father he cannot forgive, Angron gives an ultimatum to his children, one that will set them down a path that they can never return from. So desperate for his acknowledgment, will the World Eaters follow their father and cast themselves in his broken image, or will they resist? And will any of them ever learn who their father was truly meant to be?

Written by Ian St. Martin. Performed by Jonathan Keeble.

An interesting insight

Though not entirely focused on Angron but more on his legion, this book is still an interesting listen into the politics of the world eaters; glimpses of when they were warhounds, and of the concequences after finding their father.

More than anything, I would call this novel a tragedy and a drama; A short one, but still enlightening and entertaining.

I would recommend this read to any interested in hearing more about the world eaters, with sprinkles of insight from their uncaring, but complex, father.

Good, but slightly disappointing

Angron's story is extremely tragic. However, I feel like the author didn't convey it well enough for most to care (for comparison, Konrad's book is a definite 5/5 compared to this 3/5)

Unless you're a massive world eaters/khorne fan, I suggest you pass this entry in the Primarchs series. This isn't a bad book per se, but there's a lot better out there.

Great narration but gets predictable after the 3 hour mark.

Could have been better if it gave Angron even the slightest bit of sympathy towards the Legion he doesn’t want. If you think Perturabo is a shitheel Angron is far worse even tho it’s not entirely his fault (Butcher’s nails). The world eaters where damned the moment he was unwillingly put in charge of them and they go to absurd lengths to appease him in this. He has been driving them to take entire planets in a 31 hour cycle and each time they fail he Orders decimation for the ENTIRE legion.
