À propos de cet audio
This eloquent book translates attachment theory and research into an innovative framework that grounds adult psychotherapy in the facts of childhood development. Advancing a model of treatment as transformation through relationship, the author integrates attachment theory with neuroscience, trauma studies, relational psychotherapy, and the psychology of mindfulness. Vivid case material illustrates how therapists can tailor interventions to fit the attachment needs of their patients, thus helping them to generate the internalized secure base for which their early relationships provided no foundation. Demonstrating the clinical uses of a focus on nonverbal interaction, the book describes powerful techniques for working with the emotional responses and bodily experiences of patient and therapist alike.

Verbose and essential
Listening to this had me conflicted (perhaps ironically) as the material itself is brilliant, thorough, and possibly required reading for any therapist who wants to attend as fully as possible to the human beings they are helping. However, the language used makes it highly inaccessible to anyone not well-versed in terminology of psychology; certainly one would understand the words except there are so many terms which fly at you so quickly if your brain needs a moment to process some of it you've already missed another couple sentences of other terminology. It is difficult to summarize attachment literature in addition to integrating mindfulness practice into it and so this effort is applauded and by all means worth the time. It may require another author who is more versed at translating psychology language into common wording to flush this out meaningfully for some.

Great InSite to the world of attachment therapy.
I found the first few chapters written more complex in vocabulary then needed to be. Overall the book's information is at the utmost valueble. I would recommend it for other readers even ones that may not have the extensive vocabulary to recall from. College level educated I found the book to be a fountain of useful and applicable knowledge.
Worth its money.
