  • Adopted in 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability. The ADA also creates the framework for accessibility standards to which certain public facilities must adhere, including dental offices. The standards are complex, and the manner in which they're enforced is dependent on a number of factors. If you're building or expanding your practice, understanding these standards is crucial.
