Much like walking along the long stretch of a beach and collecting precious stones and interesting shells in hopes of sharing them with persons of similar interests as ourselves, we reflect on our lived experiences to collect and share teachable moments. Educators and psychologists theorize teachable moments as indicative of a time at which an individual needs or wants to learn something or input necessary for positive behavioural change. I share my collection with those who, like me, must learn to grow to the point where surviving is insufficient because thriving is an attaining goal.
