À propos de cet audio
Dominic Devizes has just escaped from prison and is on his way back to the UK to exact his revenge on the man, a British diplomat, who left him to rot. His plan is to kidnap the diplomat’s daughter, Annie, for ransom. But when the time comes, the diplomat refuses to pay and goes to the police. His daughter then tells Devizes of the true nature of the man and together they devise a plan to both acquire the ransom money and to rid the world of her father whilst distracting the authorities.
This plan then grows out of proportion as their relationship seems to flourish. But a sociopath and a psychopath can walk amongst us, undetected, planning and waiting for the right time to do whatever is necessary, not caring about collateral damage, whilst appearing to be normal. But despite months of planning, things do not go as Devizes expects and they are pursued by an assassin in an exciting climax to this part of the story, ultimately featuring an explosive twist in the tale. Any crime requires good planning. A good plan could have a hundred steps. Not all plans turn out as the planner had envisaged.
This is the beginning of a tale of obsession, lust, greed and corruption, where death is all around and where the end game was never in the plan at all. 'Bang Goes The Weasel' is part one of a trilogy. The story continues with ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Weasel’ and concludes with ‘Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Weasel Gone?’
Compelling listening, British crime fiction at its very best. Robert H Page is a master of crafting fast-paced, action-packed, twisting and turning stories that you simply can’t put down. If you like Simon Kernick, James Patterson or Harlan Coban then you will undoubtedly enjoy his work. This trilogy is a gritty crime story, told from the perspective of the bad guys and the victims, not the police; in a similar vein to a Guy Ritchie movie. Brutal at times, with a touch of dark humour.
