5 Stars Across the Board
I am so honoured to have read this story. I love how it’s set in the past and we get to know the Winston kids as their young selves. This is my favourite of all the Winston family books and I have truly enjoyed each book!

Tragic love story
This book is absolutely devastating, and absolutely fantastic. It is not a traditional romance, it is a tragic love story. In fact, the two main characters aren’t even adults. Billy is 16 and Scarlet is 14 in this book, which is technically a prequel. This is book 6 in the series and is part one of Billy and Scarlet’s story; I cannot wait to read book 7 in the hopes of finding their happy ending. Billy’s story is the one I’ve been most looking forward to as I read this series, as all the other brothers’ stories have given us glimpses into Billy and Scarlet’s history. Thank heavens for that; I read this one knowing it wouldn’t be a happy book and was going to be traumatic. Trigger warning: severe child abuse and physical violence.

Really heavy stuff
What a heart wrenching story. Every book in this series has been superbly written. I so totally recommend the series
