Marc Headley provides an insider's view of life as a member of Scientology's "Sea Organization". Marc worked at Scientology's secret desert compound, which houses all Scientology management, for 15 years. The 500-acre property is located deep in the California desert. The local townspeople were told lectures and films were made there. But is that all that was happening? It is the location of a multi-million-dollar home for L. Ron Hubbard, built two decades after his death. It is the home of Scientology's current leader, David Miscavige.

In September 2007, Elissa Wall, the star witness against polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs, gave captivating testimony of how Jeffs forced her to marry her first cousin at age 14. This harrowing account proved to be the most compelling evidence against Jeffs, showing the harsh realities of this closed community and the lengths to which Jeffs went in order to control the sect's women. Now, in this courageous memoir, Wall tells the incredible story of how she emerged from the confines of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and helped bring one of America's most notorious criminals to justice.

Still Learning is India Oxenberg’s intimate, first-person account of how she was lured into and, seven years later, escaped from the NXIVM cult, DOS. As the secret sorority within NXIVM's vast Ponzi network, DOS was created by Keith Raniere and his acolytes to serve as a source of "slaves" to Keith and the other “masters”. Despite the fantastical headlines, the focus of Still Learning reflects what many parents and age peers of India’s will recognize as a far more familiar 20-something conundrum - a new adult trying to discover who she is.

In the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS), girls can become valuable property as plural wives, but boys are expendable, even a liability. In this powerful and heartbreaking account, former FLDS member Brent Jeffs reveals both the terror and the love he experienced growing up on his prophet's compound and the harsh exile existence that so many boys face once they have been expelled by the sect.

Wonderful book!
This woman is powerful. Even if it was all that she had known all her life she knew it wasn’t right. I cannot believe this kind of organization is still active today.
Her early life story is very shocking but it was interesting to get a view from the inside.
The narration is the best I have ever experienced. She won prizes and she deserves them!

Excellent description of Sea Organization
I've read a few books by now regarding Scientology, listened to a bunch of podcasts and watched a few documentaries.. However, this book stood out to me, not only because it paints a very clear picture about the inner workings of Scientology and the Sea Organization, but also because everything she lived was incredibly interesting. I was listening to this expecting to uncover a bit more about the Miscavige family, but got sucked in by the harrowing details of her life, which could easily be turned into an incredible movie.
On of my pet peeves when reading or listening to someone's side of a story is that it often feels biased, twisted or exaggerated... however, I couldn't find an ounce of anything that might of felt distorted. This an honest recounting of her own story and will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book.

Didn’t know I was going to be a Scientology expert
The narrator did a great job reading the story and the story is quite surprising, but when I first purchased the book, I was expecting more of a dramatic story. If you’re interested in learning about every aspect of Scientology and how it all works, then this would be the book for you.If not, maybe keep searching.
