About the Author
Isis Jenkins is an ordained pastor and co-founder of Sharing Our Souls with KARE Ministries. She currently provides grief services in South Carolina and works as a chaplain at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, SC, offering grief support. As an ordained minister with the Church of God, she provides a care ministry to the International Praise Church of God, focusing on grief support.
Isis has held various leadership roles in secular industries, including 13 years as a Manufacturing Supervisor for Jtekt North America and Cummins Turbo Technologies. She is currently the CEO of Sharing Our Souls with KARE Ministries, a 501c (3) non-profit organization that offers educational, financial, situational, spiritual, emotional, and economic support to those struggling with all types of loss.
Isis was born and raised in Hollywood, SC, a small town in Charleston County. She became a single mother at the age of 17. She is the wife of a retired US Airman, a mother of four adult children, and a grandmother to one.
Isis attended Baptist Hill High School and completed her undergrads at Southern Wesleyan University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and an Associate of Science in Business Administration. She is a graduate of Columbia International University, where she obtained a Master of Arts in Chaplaincy and a Postgraduate Degree in Short-Term Pastoral Counseling. She has completed four rigorous training units as a healthcare chaplain and immersed herself in the study of Clinical Pastoral Education. She is also a certified Notary Public for the State of South Carolina. Currently, she is completing more training as a certified grief counselor. Due to her traumatic childhood and young adult life, her heart's passion is to provide spiritual and emotional support to those in need, helping individuals reach holistic care. She believes that “We were not meant to do life alone, and neither should we grieve alone."
