À propos de cet audio

Did the Covid-19 lockdowns and mandates serve society’s best interests? Science alone can’t answer the question. Philosophers have important things to say about it. So do psychologists, economists, novelists, and lawyers.

The 46 thinkers showcased in this book, drawn from a variety of disciplines and political persuasions, agree on one thing: The policies crossed the line, and the world lost its way. Some are internationally famous, others merely brilliant. Together, they hone in on the social and ethical breaches of the Covid era, such as emotional manipulation, disregard for civil liberties, and a stubborn refusal to consider the harms of freezing society.

The author also recounts her own efforts to make sense of the Covid landscape, from Zoom psychotherapy to a visit to lockdown-free Sweden. The book challenges us to survey the damage of the Covid-19 policies from diverse angles, its voices offering fresh perspectives on the greatest social upheaval in modern history.

Addressed a lot of pandemic sentiments.

This book covered a lot of my feelings as to how things were going and how I started questioning things along the way. I remember being told things like ‘so you wan to kill people,’ not understanding that other people couldn’t see that a virus is gonna virus - and no amount of government controls were going to stop it. How people blamed governments for death rates and how my friend was lied to while being hospitalized immediately after his 2 vaccine that he didn’t want but he wanted his job more. His wife was in hospital in November 2020 and they had 2 patients in her unit test positive. She was not allowed to leave for 2 weeks. She tested negative before sending her home and then she fell ill with covid after one weekend of being at home. She later died in the hospital. They essentially held her prisoner in a hospital room for 2 weeks - not for testing positive herself but for being exposed. She may not have even picked it up.

I wish I could get the covid zealot loved ones in my life to read this, but most won’t as they did feel what was done was ‘right’ and ‘for the common good’. Or worse - they now say it’s over just drop it already.
