À propos de cet audio
A mild mannered man, General Bradley created the impression less of a soldier than of a teacher, which he was during much of his early career in the Army. He earned a reputation as an eminent tactician and rose through the ranks to become a five-star general.

Solid Conventional Biography
Alan Axelrod's review of the life & career of General Omar Nelson Bradley is well-written, well-researched, and insightful. Axelrod compiles an effective exposé of the man's life by poring over military documents, letters, and General Bradley's own writings. By the end of the book - following the Five-star's progression from an unspectacular Missouri childhood to helping reshape the US Military in the interwar years to WWII exploits to Postwar Head of the VA to decisions as Truman's/Eisenhower's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - I had developed an enlightening opinion of an opinionated man but a genuine patriot (Confrontations with General Montgomery in Europe and General MacArthur in Korea are particularly illustrative).
Reader William Hughes provides exemplary narration - with spot-on diction, cadence, timbre, and tone. He performs well enough to keep a fairly dry subject interesting. Bravo.
Altogether, I rate 'Bradley' a respectable 8.5 stars out of 10. The subject matter isn't particularly gripping & the book follows a strikingly straighforward chronological matrix (excepting an excellent final chapter discussing his legacy) - but it was a great download option to play in the background while going about housework.. providing some much-valued edification for an admittedly "casually-interested" student of Military History like me. I am grateful that Audible included this audiobook as a 'Plus' option.. because it's good enough to merit a Credit from the right reader.
