Bunny Mellon, who died in 2014 at age 103, was press-shy during her lifetime. With the cooperation of Bunny Mellon's family, author Meryl Gordon received access to thousands of pages of her letters, diaries, and appointment calendars and has interviewed more than 175 people to capture the spirit of this talented American original.

Americans Gardener

This is a very through and immensely enjoyable biography of the shadowy Bunny Mellon...known only really publicly as the designer of the White House Rose Garden and best friend of Jackie Kennedy. I’m not sure I would have liked her if I had met her but it was wonderful to hear about her fulfilling life as one of the richest women in the US we hardly ever heard about. Highly recommended
