À propos de cet audio

The US Central Intelligence Agency is no stranger to conspiracy and allegations of corruption. Across the globe, violent coups have been orchestrated, high-profile targets kidnapped, and world leaders dispatched at the hands of CIA agents. During the 1960's, on domestic soil, the methods used to protect their interests and themselves, at the expense of the American people, were no less ruthless.

In CIA Rogues and the Killing of the Kennedys, Patrick Nolan fearlessly investigates the CIA’s involvement in the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy - why the brothers needed to die and how rogue intelligence agents orchestrated history’s most infamous conspiracy.

Nolan furthers the research of leading forensic scientists, historians, and scholars who agree that there remain serious unanswered questions regarding the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, fifty years ago, and Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. He revisits and refutes what is currently known about Lee Harvey Oswald and Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, and offers listeners a compelling profile of the CIA’s Richard Helms, an amoral master of clandestine operations with a chip on his shoulder.

Bolstered by a foreword by Dr. Henry C. Lee, one of the world’s foremost forensic authorities, CIA Rogues and the Killing of the Kennedys is an unmatched effort in forensic research and detective work. As the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination approaches, Nolan has made a significant contribution to the literature on that fateful day in Dallas, as well as shed light on that dark night at the Ambassador Hotel. Listeners interested in conspiracy, the Kennedy family, or American history will find this audiobook invaluable.

Fun Conjecture

Let's face it.. this stuff is nonsense. Many of the assertions in this book are actually laughably ludicrous.. backed up by "evidence" that displays more confirmation bias than almost anything that I have ever heard.
That said, I am a big believer that people *should* expose themselves to conspiracy theories - if only to engage their minds in expansive thought-experiments. First, there is instructive value in recognizing the cognitive processes involved in stringing together the complex parallels & relations inherent in scenarios like those proposed in this book; second, contemplating said notions is a great exercise for developing critical thinking skills; and finally.. they're extremely entertaining.
Patrick Nolan writes very clearly, compiles his evidence logically, and draws conclusions with deft skill. 'CIA Rogues and the Killing of the Kennedys' is quite readable.

Audible Studios Inc did well to enlist Stephen Bowlby to read the book, too. True, he reads much too slowly (setting playback at 1.20X yields the most natural listening experience), but Bowlby exhibits great diction, comfortable cadence & timbre, and an exemplary "interested" tone. Sound engineers further do an acceptable (if imperfect) job splicing in re-recorded segments where needed.

I hope that I'm not giving the impression that the book is "silly" or "bad". In fact, it's essentially exactly what I was looking for: a well-written, well-reasoned, well-organized collection of inconsistencies suggesting cover-ups and alternatives to the official narrative. I have read equally vociferous pieces "proving" that the Mob did the assassinations - but Nolan's 'CIA Mind Control' theory is provocative.
It's just jawdropping to me that he presents the information without a *hint* of irony. I call the book "fun".. but it's not lighthearted at all.. Nolan genuinely BELIEVES what he's writing.

Regardless, this 9/10 star summation of an alternative theory is worth your time. Even if Audible asked for a Credit (I got it as a 'Plus' selection), you would do well to spend it.

CIA responsible for so much

This was eye opening for me. I was a young teenager living in UK when President Kennedy was killed. I have never forgotten the moment that someone broke into the TV show I was watching ( it was 6pm)!in UK. We were all riveted to the TV waiting for more news. Reading this book puts everything in perspective. … the rest of the story. Great read

I really hope this book is not sincere

The world relies so much on forensic experts for their authoritative expertise that it is quite concerning to see this hilariously weak and conspiratorial account written and recommended by the pre-eminent experts in this field.

I call it 'conspiratorial' because of the logic and methods presented in this book, not because of its premise and conclusions. Did CIA has nasty businesses with MK Ultra? Sure, you can still read the consequences in your psychology textbook, Did CIA has something to do with the assassination? Sure thing as well. However, did CIA as an organization implement the full assassination as a detailed plan with orders and executions perfectly coordinated with the finest detail planning? You are SUPPOSED TO convince me with evidence and good-faith deliberation.

Instead I get this completely conspiratorial writing as if James Angleton and Richard Helms are capable of plotting such grand schemes. Have they ever, I mean EVER, achieve any victory of this scale? The CIA itself had open dozens of investigation on Angleton to see if he himself is a spy because of his incompetence.

Watergate is the kind of operations that the CIA is capable of, IF it was a plot against Nixon. Murdering the president in broad daylight? Probably no.
