À propos de cet audio

How can we benefit from the promise of government while avoiding the threat it poses to individual freedom? In this classic book, Milton Friedman provides the definitive statement of his immensely influential economic philosophy - one in which competitive capitalism serves as both a device for achieving economic freedom and a necessary condition for political freedom. The result is an accessible text that has sold well over half a million copies in English, has been translated into 18 languages, and shows every sign of becoming more and more influential as time goes on.

This updated edition includes a new preface by the author.

After the ~10 min intro to the forthwith edition version (which you hear in the sample), the tape switches over to the real book and a new, terrible, narrator takes over. The book itself was extremely good which made the voice somewhat bearable- but I was extremely annoyed about the ol switcheroo they pull. I would choose a different version of the audiobook if one was available, but would listen to this one if another version is still nonexistent when you read this. Other than that it really was a good read. Perfect length for what was being said.

Sample narrator is a lie

wow, I'm sure Milton Friedman is a good economic theorist, but how can an individual be so tone deaf.

good theories on unfettered capitalism in this day and age seems so outdated. and his theories on social structures is awful.

I tried to listen to this with knowledge that it was written a long time ago, but his use of language is racist, and outdated. his theory needs to be filed under failed experiment.

The most tone deaf garble I've ever read

Un problème est survenu. Veuillez réessayer dans quelques minutes.

An ineffective and impotent defense of capitalism and freedom. Ends up undercutting it's own good intentions.

Achieves the opposite of it's intention.
