The first book in the Discworld series - The Colour of Magic - was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

Too bad about the feegles

The Feegles could have been clearer, but I have to assume that this was a production decisoin, not a failure.
I haven't been an audiobooker till now, since I read fast and don't really want to put 12 hours into a book. But I was able to work this into some walks, and listen whike doing easy computer work. Nevertheless, I found my attention wandering in some of the inevitable slower bits.
On the other hand, I got some of the jokes that I missed when reading,
Excellent overall.
