À propos de cet audio
A funny, small-town lesbian romance about clashing cultures and daring to dream big.
LA-based English indie filmmaker Alex Levitin reluctantly takes a job in New Zealand to save the "worst movie ever", Shezan: Mistress of the Forest. Things might go easier for her if she didn't almost run over the standoffish, beautiful local cop on her first day in town. And it'd really help if her film set wasn't being mysteriously sabotaged.
When Ika Whenu's Senior Constable Sam Keegan isn't trying to stamp out a motorcycle gang drug problem afflicting her town, she's publicly slamming everything about the exploitative film, Shezan, and the Hollywood blow-ins making it. That includes its nerdy, cute director, Alex, who has woeful driving skills to go with her smart mouth.
Against the stunning scenery and chaotic film-set backdrop, attraction flares between the two warring women as they're forced to work together to find the set saboteur.
Contains mature themes.

relateable characters
I adored this story. The characters can be a bit too perfect, it is a romance after all, but I found Alex' geekiness and creativity as relatable as I found Sam's tendency for isolating herself and stoicism. Lee Winter is great at chemistry and is definitely better at making the pining stages of a romance less repetitive than the standard of the genre. Of course, I admit I am probably a bit more critical when I read about straight couples as it's harder for me to put myself in their shoes.
The performance was great overall. Good emotional range. Decent accents. My only issue there is a few of the voices were not super distinguishable from each other, but as they were not major characters it didn't detract too much from the telling. Still, Sky and Melody have very different personalities so not being able to tell which was speaking at first was a bit weird.

interesting plot, great narration
The story is set in small town in New Zealand where a hollywood director gets involved with the local cop. The author takes ample time to develop the relationship between these two who initially get off on the wrong foot. The dialogue is well thought out and interesting. The narrator does an exceptional job with the Directors role . There’s also a bit of a who-dunnit sideplot that adds some intrigue.
