Annie Jones works hard designing windows for iconic New York City department store Lawson's Finest. With help from friendly security guard Braden Tate, Annie repairs the damage and heads home. I picked up Christmas Eve Love Story by Ginny Baird as a cute advent calendar read from Indigo, and it definitely delivered on the holiday vibes. This book is pure fluff—no spice at all—just cozy adventure, lots of love, and the challenge of figuring out the best outcome. Honestly, it felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie turned into a book, complete with Santa magic to make you smile.
The premise is adorable: Annie Jones, a hardworking window designer in NYC, gets stuck in a time loop, repeating Christmas Eve over and over until she figures out what’s missing in her life. Each day brings small changes and chances to get closer to Braden, the friendly security guard, and to the life she’s dreaming of. It’s got all the festive feels—twinkling lights, holiday cheer, and even a sweet twist on Christmas Day that I really enjoyed.
That said, 12 loops of Christmas Eve is a lot, y’all. While the concept is fun (think Groundhog Day meets Miracle on 34th Street), it started to feel way too repetitive for me. Cute moments? Absolutely. But overall, this wasn’t my favorite. If you love wholesome holiday stories with zero drama and full-on Christmas magic, this might be right up your alley.
