Crash Dive: The Complete Series chronicles the adventures of Charlie Harrison as he fights the Imperial Japanese Navy during WW2. Gripping, action-packed, authentic, and filled with larger-than-life men and women of the Greatest Generation, Crash Dive puts you aboard a submarine during the war.
You'll stand alongside Charlie as he proves himself time and again by keeping his wits and being decisive in crisis, though each encounter leaves him more heavily scarred for it. You'll attack a convoy in a daring night surface attack, emerge in a sea fog to ambush a battle group, and charge the battleship Yamato during the decisive Battle of Leyte Gulf. All the while, you'll live with the crew in the cramped, noisy, and challenging machine that was a diesel-electric submarine.
Crash Dive: The Complete Series puts together for the first time all six episodes in Craig DiLouie's highly acclaimed historical military fiction series: Crash Dive, Silent Running, Battle Stations, Contact!, Hara-Kiri, and Over the Hill.

In 1942, America's deadliest fighter pilot, or "ace of aces" - the legendary Eddie Rickenbacker - offered a bottle of bourbon to the first US fighter pilot to break his record of 26 enemy planes shot down. Seizing on the challenge to motivate his men, General George Kenney promoted what they would come to call the "race of aces" as a way of boosting the spirits of his war-weary command.

This landmark account of the U.S. Navy in the Cold War, Who Can Hold the Sea combines narrative history with scenes of stirring adventure on—and under—the high seas. In 1945, at the end of World War II, the victorious Navy sends its sailors home and decommissions most of its warships. But this peaceful interlude is short-lived, as Stalin, America’s former ally, makes aggressive moves in Europe and the Far East.

Fascinated with flying from a young age, Mason earned his private pilot's license even before graduating high school. He enlisted in the army in 1964 and endured an extremely challenging "weeding out" process in an effort to fly helicopters. Sent to Vietnam, he survived more than 1,000 air combat missions despite the violence and brutality exploding all around him.

Possibly the best…ever.
This might well be the best WW2 Pacific Theatre historical fiction ever. It is certainly the best that I have read/heard to date. I have not looked forward to my audio book driving sessions this much in a long time. Extremely well written.

The only reason I found this book is because RC Bray narrated it. I'm a huge fan of his work, and once again he did a fantastic job with the Crash Dive series.

Loved it
Ok ok...I know, it’s not perfect. If you want technical perfection, 100% realistic strategy etc etc this isn’t it.
Some of the situations are pretty far fetched, but this is escapism.
What this is, is an exiting, entertaining, fictitious story based during real events. I crushed the near 30hrs of the 6 mini-books which reads pretty much like 1 long book, in just a few days.
If you want to be entertained, and love WW2 Pacific theatre, get this collection.

Phenomenal Story and Narration
This really captures adventure and loss in WWII’s Pacific theater and the submariners who served. I started and simply couldn’t stop. It’s over and I wish there was more of Charlie Harrison. RC Bray’s narration is really on point which made it even better.
