À propos de cet audio
He’s ready to close the deal, but I’m no sellout!
I’ve got a bad habit that I can’t shake. His name is Alejandro “Alex” Anderson.
It starts out the same way—with a few drinks. Or more. Who’s counting? I find myself drawn to the promise of his passionate gaze, confident poise, and smoldering good looks. Before I know it, I’m in a janitor’s closet, locked in a steamy kiss with Alex. And of course, it doesn’t end there.
Each time we share a night of passion, I don’t want to return to Earth. After, as we cuddle, I can’t imagine myself with anyone else, but then reality kicks in.
See, Alex isn’t just a pretty face. He’s a billionaire, complete with a mansion in a gated community and a maid. We definitely come from two totally different worlds!
Even worse, Alex is a heartless bastard. Once he started rolling in the cash, he left our hometown and hasn’t looked back since. I don’t really know how he got all that money, but I do know that the kindhearted, down-to-earth guy I grew up with seems to have disappeared.
Now Alex is hatching a plan to buy Dewsbury and turn it into a corporate tourist dump for city folk...and it’s up to me to save our hometown!
I can’t help myself, though. Each time he texts, every time he calls, every time we fight and make up, I find myself falling for him even harder. Alex keeps showing up—coming to the Dewsbury annual block party and helping me renovate my Airbnb. And each time he leaves, I find myself looking forward to our next meetup.
I keep hoping Alex might change. Maybe he will. There are moments where I find myself falling head over heels for those heated, dark eyes and firm lips. Alex seems to feel the connection too, but whenever it seems like he is taking one step forward, he takes two steps back.
Maybe all we have are our memories—the old times I still treasure and the new ones we’ve made together. I wonder if Alex will figure out what’s really important before it’s too late.
