Filler book that barely moved the story
Almost nothing happened. The perfoamces were fantastic as always, as was the writing but feels like everything could have been accomplished in 1/4 the time and added to the next book. 75% of the story could have been dropped as it will have no affect on the book and would not be missed

Some people get excited about budgets
and some of us prefer action. I’m pretty sure this book made many details-oriented folks happy as it delved into political and social structures. Now that the framework is in my mind I’m hoping there is more story movement in the next books.

Jordan weaves as Jordan wills
This is my third read-through of the entire series and my 4th time through the first 10 books.
I've read a lot of reviews from other readers claiming that from The Path of Daggers through Winter's Heart to Crossroads of Twilight, the story "slogs on", but I disagree.
Robert Jordan managed to tell the story of multiple major viewpoint characters with overlapping timelines in a way that touched on major events in the right order and showed the ripples of each through the other character's viewpoints at a later time. And he did this masterfully.
As an aspiring author working on an epic fantasy series, I can only hope that, when my story is finally published, I was able to wield the written word with similar mastery.

The Slog
This book is a known slog. It can be a bit tough at times as RJ's writing hit a low point. Your first read through will be rough, but this book has a place in the story and I've found I appreciate it more after my second and third read.
