But he was not destined to remain in his lowly position for long. With a combination of clear-sighted thinking, frugality and sheer hard work, he managed to put together a plan and the finances necessary to acquire his first hotel: Clarkes. That was only the beginning....

Decades later, The Oberoi Group has 30 hotels, girdles the globe, and is acknowledged as a standard setter. In this well-researched and candid biography, written with the cooperation of M.S. A little boaring, not much learning but a great overview of his life

It was not written by the founder and stories written by a third person are often shallow and this one was like that. A good overview of his career but I was not able to learn enough on the thinking, strategies and mindset of the founder. I had to force myself to stay engaged. I was looking to learn and not only to hear a good and encouraging story. It is however impressive to see what he has done, better than not knowing anything about a person like him.
