À propos de cet audio
A Warhammer Horror audiobook
A disgraced warrior-priest who prowls the Greywater Fastness is forced to confront his past when a message from an old friend sends him on a perilous quest. In an isolated village full of untrusting souls, his darkest secrets threaten to come to light.
Listen to It Because:
Explore a corner of the Mortal Realms full of dangerous characters and dark secrets in a tale by Josh Reynolds, master of the sinister.
The Story:
Harran Blackwood was a Warrior-Priest of ruthless virtue. Now he's a man with a scorched reputation, prowling the back alleys of Greywater Fastness, content to fight the petty wars of racketeers for survival. But when a desperate message arrives from an old friend, Blackwood is forced to confront a past he thought long buried.
Summoned to the isolated village of Wald, Blackwood sets off on a perilous trek to ensure the sins of his former life remain forgotten. He soon discovers that Wald is a hostile, secretive place with sins of its own. Deep in the murky marshes, where the cruel chants of village folk echo and the stink of death hovers low, Blackwood must channel his bitterness and rage to defy the ancient darkness that now hunts him before he is devoured, body and soul.

In the midst of a vast gas nebula lies a remote watch-station, hanging silently against a tapestry of dying stars. It sits alone, patiently awaiting lost travellers adrift in the freezing vastness of the void. To such souls it appears as a blessing, a safe haven from the warp storms that wrack the immaterium and destroy the ships of those foolish enough to test the tides. To Captain Arq and her crew, it is one thing - refuge. But things are never so simple.

His dread advance begins with the free city of Glymmsforge, bastion of Azyr in the Realm of Death. Standing between Nagash and his prize are the brooding Anvils of the Heldenhammer, an ancient host of Stormcast Eternals, and Lord-Castellant Pharus Thaum, guardian of the Ten Thousand Tombs. But an ancient sin stains their honour - a wound in their world that will never heal. Ignorant souls would call it a forest, but those who watch over it know better. Nothing natural grows in the Reverie’s snow-swept glades or wanders amongst the unnatural things that do, save for the intruders who trespass on its pain. Some seek revelation or redemption, others dream of winning a place amongst the Resplendent, but all come because they must.

Great listen.
Dark harvest is awesome at portraying a sense of dread and atmospheric horror, the main character was interesting and left me wanting to see more of him though I would be surprised if we did.

Gripping from start to finish
I'll be honest this book wasn't particularly scary but holy Sigmar is it interesting. There are a lot of questions thrown at the reader early on and most of the way through the book but they definitely get answered. The author did a fantastic job with this one and of course what good would an audio book be without a good narrator. Jake Urry absolutely smashed it with his gruff gritting narration giving the whole story a creepy vibe. I can't reccommend this book hard enough!

I took a chance listening to a Warhammer Horror novel and it was well worth it. Josh Reynolds does not disappoint. One of the best books I have listened to in a while. The story was excellent! The narration was perfect for the story. Jake Urdu’s voice was the right tone for sure. I hope we hear more from this character in the future.

Great voice acting, immersove atmosphere
What a great novel, its a compelling and creepy story. The atmosphere of the ruinous swamp is excellent. Very spooky. I was enraptured by the voice acting as well. Each character comes to life in unique ways. A much darker tone is thown onto the sylvaneth. Overall its sick as hell dawg

Honest Review With Effort
Ill Start Here,
I Am A Huge Fan Of Horror, The Nature of which is the balance of Hope&Fear
The Struggle To Survive only to realize that in the end you were only an infentesimally small component of a massive design, Nothing You Did Really Mattered in the end.
The_Conclusion_of_this_book_fit_the_above_textbook. Yet The Buildup & Relationships felt hollow & unattached. The Inevitable Demise of various characters carried little emotional weight.
The Narration(Dont Know if these reviews reach the narrator)Was Like DukeNukem Meets_Zefrank@Youtube with little varience between the characters which made the story lack a certain dynamic in audiobooks I Appreciate.
Much of the 'horror' before the conclusion was intented to be 'implicative' to make the listener uncomfortable, but flops without these horrific things actually happening infront of the protagonist to be described first person.
As A Warhammer Fantasy Novel this is more akin to a 'Darkside of Treekin' narritive with a bit of horror at the end.
In Conclusion this book barely makes the mark of being actual horror, but sustains itself through the application a decent ending.
Worth The Dive If You Can Handle The Narration.
