Phenomenal
Storyline was excellent- very entrancing! Voice actors were perfect for the story as well and matched the character descriptions quite accurately I found.

Power through it
As many have stated, the narration isn’t great. Too high pitched at points from the female narrator and the male was taking big gasping breaths that were distracting! I struggled to get into the story because of it but I powered through and was glad I did! I really enjoyed the story, kind of gives Throne of Glass vibes and that’s one of my favourite series ever!

Love the book not keen on narration
I really love this story however I will be physically reading books 2 and 3 because of the narration. The narrator was by no means bad, she is very talented, however I didn’t like the voices for the characters. For the first 30% I thought the main character was a young girl and her mentor was in his 80s and then I read sone reviews and realized that this is a romance story. I fully think this is just my perception and that many people will still enjoy the narration however it really threw me out of the story in a few instances.

Loved the story
I loved the story and the female narrator. It was immersive, fast-paced and exciting. But the male narrator didn’t fit the role and sounded like he was gasping for breath the entire time which was so distracting

Great story
Fantastic story line, gripped me from the beginning. I picked it because it was included in my membership, but bought the next book right after. Male voice actor was not very good. Super breathy in a distracting way and flat unemotional delivery compared to the female narrator.

Plot was excellent
The story line is excellent I really enjoyed it, the narration of the girl was good, the man however I wasn't getting love story I was getting really old guy training young apprentice vibes for the first half and then the narrator changed to a man for the guys perspective chapters and it was just too dramatic of a contrast neither really worked for the character.

Honestly it’s worth it
The story is fantastic!! The narration in the first book is a bit too childish during dialogue, but the narrator drops the childlike voice in the second and third book!! So for those who listened to the first book and hated the narration… the second and third book are great!

Great plot
Unfortunately regret listening to the audiobook rather than reading, because the male narrator ruins it. He is rushed and sounds monotone at times and not putting emotions into it. Also, his impression of any other characters voice is cringy. The impression of a female voice is so awful, I wish he had just spoken, without the higher pitched efforts. And his Zareth voice sounds like a pathetic old fat man? Not what zareth should sound like.
Female narrator did well. Story was amazing.

Narrators make this hard to enjoy
The story itself is decent, I struggled to really enjoy the overall book with the narrators taking away from the story. From the child like voices for the main character, to the endless gasping and rushed reading voice of the male narrator. Definitely think this would’ve been a more enjoyable book if the narrators took a different approach to reading this.

Can't finish it
I just cannot finish this. I'm so put off by the voice actors I just can't do it. It's not believable and I find myself mocking them as the story goes on which means I'm not even listening anymore and have to keep going back. The MFC sounds like a child and the MMC sounds like an 90 year old man. And then the narrator for the MMC is so grating. All I can hear is him breathing. I think he totally missed the mark on his narration. Sounds like both actors are smokers. I enjoy audio books but this has really put me off and it's a waste of money for me. The book is probably better than I think but the narration has totally ruined it for me.
