The book is long but oh so wholesome. The plot is steady, the way Charles entices empathy from the reader for all his characters from stern to loopy is magical. The narrator brought the words to life, I'm very happy to have spent my time on this novel.

David Copperfied is one of my most favourite books of all time/. I love Dickens. I never thought that an audiobook could match what my imagination would conjure when reading the book. I was wrong. Richard Armitage is masterful. If you love this book, you have a whole other way to love it even more. It’s a must listen.

Having just finished this book I am thoroughly taken aback by Richard Armitage's abilities as a voice actor. I have watched Castlevania and listened to his reading of Dr Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and yet this performance was on another level. His skill in making each character voice unique makes the listen so enjoyable. I would put him on par with Ray Porter for his adaptability.

To add to that this has been my favourite Dickensian novel so far. Memorable characters, a well paced plot with great denouement and the funniest dialogue I've heard in a book. (The scene wherein one particular character admonishes a certain antagonist is possibly the funniest scene in literature.)

I cannot recommend this book enough for any fans of English literature.

The story is full of wonderful characters and intriguing situations for them to struggle with as life conveys them all forward. Human nature is so well observed. The reader does every character justice, bringing out the depth of feeling, gentle humour and even scrutiny of motives. Loved every minute.

I enjoyed this production enormously. It’s been 30 or so years since I read the first novel of Dickens but now this production far exceeded earlier readings it is the combination of a great story and performance.
