À propos de cet audio

Texas? Toast. Battered by five cataclysmic hurricanes in three weeks, the Texas Gulf Coast and half of the Lone Star State is reeling from the worst devastation in history. Thousands are dead or dying - but the worst is only beginning. Amid the wreckage, something unimaginable is happening: a deadly virus has broken out, returning the dead to life - with an insatiable hunger for human flesh. The nightmare begins....

Within hours, the plague has spread all over Texas. San Antonio police officer Eddie Hudson finds his city overrun by a voracious army of the living dead. Along with a small group of survivors, Eddie must fight off the savage horde in a race to save his family.

Hell on Earth. There's no place to run. No place to hide. The zombie horde is growing as the virus runs more rampant. Eddie knows he has to find a way to destroy these walking horrors... but he doesn't know the price he will have to pay.

Ce que les critiques en disent

"A merciless, fast-paced and genuinely scary read that will leave you absolutely breathless." (Brian Keene)

As a San Antonio Police Officer himself, Joe McKinney writes a strikingly authentic description of chaotic disaster when the authorities first face the onslaught of the undead. The initial encounter is every bit as exciting, horrifying, and well-paced as The Battle Of New York in 'World War Z'.
Luckily for Zombie Fiction aficionados, the unsophisticated straightforward "stay-alive" story about a community collapsing avoids tropes and continues at a relentless pace - albeit with somewhat formulaic action and a series of strikingly unrealistic characters behaving incomprehensibly - former partner & wisecracking horndog 'Officer Marcus' is baffling, for example.

As to presentation: Michael Kramer delivers his signature peerless reading (diction, cadence, voice-acting, and that inimitable baritone).. but sounds occasionally disinterested on this project for some reason. His tone is just slightly off. Still, Tantor Audio Inc. provides a far above-average recording.

In toto, 'Dead City' rates 7 stars out of 10. I'm pleased that I was able to get the book off of the 'Plus' menu, because - despite being pretty sophomoric at times - it would rate a Credit for any fan of the ZA genre looking for a fun gore-soaked tale & willing to take it as offered.

First Three Chapters Brilliant

I happened to look up and see a cop wrote this and it’s filled with self indulging symbols of valour and higher morality. It feels like the philosophical range of a child everything black and white siphoned into words. Sorry it’s just so bad it’s laughable.

Ok voice actor but self inflating author
