À propos de cet audio
"We are the people our parents warned us about" is the motto of the Bandidos, one of the world's most feared outlaw motorcycle gangs. For ten years, Steve Utah was a Bandidos insider. He arranged the security of their clubhouses. He 'cooked' ecstasy and ice for them. He was at meetings where interstate and overseas drug and weapons smuggling was planned. He saw stolen military weapons being sold. He witnessed vicious beatings, helped dump corpses. He saw men executed in front of him. It all became too much and, in an attempt to regain control of his life, Utah resorted to the unthinkable: he rolled over to the Federal Police and told them all he knew about the Bandidos.
This shocking, unflinching, tragic story is Steve Utah's confession. He knows he is a dead man running - that inevitably the Bandido code will be honoured and he will be silenced. But not before Utah gets his chance to wake Australians to the looming threat in their midst - the relentless rise of sophisticated organised crime networks inside outlaw motorcycle gangs and the apparent inability of the Police and legal system to deal with it.

Nothing is Steve‘s fault
While I am certain that this book contains some truth, it appears that the majority of it is a fairy tale. According to Steve, he is a decent person who wants to do the right thing, and he is never at fault. I felt the narrator did an excellent job, but the material he was reading was not at all compelling. I have read and listened to numerous novels in this genre, and I would say that this one is vying for the title of worst. If I were to speculate, I would say that 85 percent of this book is fiction. The author would deviate from the path and provide background information about other MCs. I wanted to stop listening after fifteen minutes, but I had to persevere in the hopes that it would improve. While it did improve in places, it took till approximately chapter 9 or 10 to do so, and even the better parts were not that remarkable. I definitely will not be listening to this book again .

It’s an ok listen, but too much of nothing really.
It’s difficult to follow as it jumps around a lot. It also paints Steven Utah as somewhat of a good guy, which clearly he is not.

Okay info, missrepresented book/story.
Narration felt monotonous, lots of lists, lots of jumping around the story made it hard to follow. Also the guy was never a "biker". Without too many spoilers, it was an okay look at the worst parts of a world/culture but was no expose' of life inside the life.

Like listening to someone read a textbook
I have listened to numerous outlaw motorcycle club books on audible and have enjoyed them all so far with the exception of Hunter S Thompson. This book is like listening to someone read the entire encyclopedia. Lots of information however it just drones on and on. It’s hard to stay interested as the narrative emotionlessly goes over people and events chronologically. May be for some but definitely not for me.
